Spring is here, and with it will come many people trying to sell their homes. This is traditionally the time that the market is deluged with new listings.
When potential buyers and realtors are looking over the MLS properties, aerial shots of houses can tell much more about the area around the home.
A beautiful sunny day for a rental house shoot just north of Cape Charles. This was an interesting shoot because the owner is applying to be a wedding/event location, and needed a visual representation of where things would be in relation to neighbors.
When selling a property, you want it to look its best in photos, regardless of when it may actually sell.
Something that people will notice is if there is an obvious time of year that the photos were taken, and if that time was a while ago, it can create a negative image of the property.
A fun and quick aerial shoot for the Virginia Beach REIN Office. They just wanted a couple of staff aerial videos to add into an ad they were creating.
One of the main goals in photographing a home for a listing is to make the rooms look as large and impersonal as possible.
Here are the best ways to prepare your house for the best photographs possible.
A gorgeous sunny day for a shoot at The MARQ in Virginia Beach. This was an aerial and ground shoot to capture the property’s beautiful features.
A beautiful sunny day (again) in Chesapeake for a residential Real Estate shoot for Rose & Womble. This waterfront property has very easy access to the Elizabeth River.
Fun commercial shoot in North Carolina. This was an aerial and ground photo shoot of a 7-11 in Barco. Beautiful day, managed to get the shoot in between storm bands..
Because aerial photography is such a relatively new field, clients and homeowners often aren’t sure how to prepare a property for an aerial shoot.
Here are 10 things you can do to guarantee the best possible aerial imaging of a property.
A very breezy day for an already challenging Chesapeake aerial shoot of a yard closed in by trees. At least there was a nice soft pool to catch the drone if it fell.
Beautiful day for another aerial shoot in Chesapeake. This was a property with an additional lot beside it. Really nice house.
Aerial photo shoot of a beautiful waterfront property in Chesapeake, VA. Playing catch-up after several days of rain.. Have to fit in 8 shoots before it returns at the weekend.
Beautiful sunny day for an aerial photography shoot in Portsmouth. Two apartment complexes with some excellent views of the Elizabeth River.
Cool ground photography shoot at the new Norfolk offices of Jones CPA Group. 2 floors looking great!
Fourth Commercial Real Estate shoot this week. This one was more complicated, as it was pretty much right outside Oceana Naval Air Station.
There were jets on touch-and-go training flying really low literally overhead every minute or so, which meant communication with the Air Traffic Control was essential. I had to bring the drone down every time the jets were near, and take the shots quickly between passes.
Third of four commercial real estate aerial photography shoots. This one for a retirement community in Hampton, VA.
2nd of 4 commercial real estate aerial shoots this week.
This one was for a neat brewpub, distillery and restaurant in Hampton, VA
First in a set of 4 commercial real estate shoots. This one in Newport News for a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math school
A neat shoot with GPC Joint Venture. We were driving around looking for the best camera positions to view the new bridge replacement on I64 in Chesapeake as the construction progresses.
Cool aerial shoot at a working Cotton Gin in Windsor, VA. For the first time in weeks there have been a few days where I was able to fly.
This aerial shoot was something different!
I was commissioned for an aerial photo shoot for an empty lot. The owner is going to be planning a house for the property, and wanted the lot plans overlaid on the photos for 3rd party reference.
Got to shoot the house next door to a house I shot several months ago. Even though it was majorly overcast, I was able to send the drone up when the sun popped out.
Aerial shoot for a HUGE and beautiful property in Chesapeake. Once again surrounded by trees, so was playing duck and dodge through the shoot, and my obstacle sensors were yelling at me :)
With all that I was able to get some nice angles.
So many trees! My drone was close enough to kiss them throughout the photo shoot, but it controlled its urges :)
Another photo shoot in Chesapeake involving racing the weather. A brief gap after days of rain, but more clouds were fast moving in!
It’s been a busy week with several commercial and residential real estate shoots. These are from a shoot for Rose and Womble of a beautiful house near Sandbridge in Virginia Beach. I took the standard shots, and also a few ’Terry’ shots while I was there :)
A quick demo showing overlaid graphics onto commercial buildings and land.
Travelled up to Maryland to shoot these 2 quaint homes for a client. It rained for 3 days straight!!
Finally the rain lifted for a few hours, and we were able to get some aerial and ground shots.
Another beautiful day for an aerial shoot. Not a cloud in the sky.
A little breezy, but the drone handled it like a champ.
A gorgeous day in Chesapeake. Just the right amount of clouds in the sky, although just a few hours from rain storms!
Aerial video shoot at a beautiful waterfront (canal front) home in Hampton, VA, just a few minutes from the Chesapeake Bay.
It was a ’what a coincidence’ shoot, as I have my boat literally at the marina at the end of their canal.
The weather had been bad for several days, but finally we had a morning when the sun peeked through the clouds just long enough to get done.
Spent a few days videoing and editing a short promo for a beautiful in-progress development on the Intracoastal Waterway at Chesapeake, VA. I wanted to use less conventional, ’fun’ music to sum up the tagline ’Come home to your happy place’
A very cute Norfolk waterfront property, with a HUGE walkway out to the boathouse..
I don’t think the boat conveys :)
THAT’S what I’m talking about!!
This was a beautiful real estate shoot in Chesapeake. The property is awesome, with a fire pit, pool and picturesque pond in the background. I want to move :)
Pretty day for an aerial real estate shoot of a waterfront property on Albacore Key in Virginia Beach.
There were an awful lot of trees on the property (trees are an aerial photographer’s nightmare), but I still managed to weave my way through them to get some cool shots.
Another gorgeous day doing a ground shoot of a Virginia Beach waterfront property on Timberland Trail, Virginia Beach
Very pretty day taking aerial photos of a waterfront property in Virginia Beach that’s just coming onto the market
Great day shooting for a For Sale By Owner property in Chesapeake, VA. Even though the trees were a bit bare, I think I captured the feel of the property.
Inside video and aerial video were then used to make the video.
